Former chief minister Raman Singh in a tweet took a dig at Chhattisgarh government for taking loan from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for the sixth time in last two months.
Congress immediately countered it through a set of tweets, claiming exploitation of the state for the last 15 years by the BJP had led to such a financial situation.
Singh in a tweet said the Congress government in the state adopted a policy of “Take loan and drink Ghee”, pointing out in the last two months it has taken loan six times from the RBI.
Ultimately the people would have to bear the cost of these loans, he said, alleging the policy of the government was neither in favour of the people nor the state.
Congress replied to Singh’s charges through its official twitter handle.
“For the last 15 years the state was exploited, making it an ICU patient. If immediate and proper treatment is not done, the condition may turn more critical. Therefore, special measures have been taken by the government to manage the situation so that the state attains a healthy status.”
The other tweet raises personal allegations against the former chief minister and urges him to remain “healthy and mentally fit.”
