BJP takes dig at Baghel’s claim on recruitment ban

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Vikram Usendi on Wednesday pointed out that circular cited by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to defend his government’s recruitment policy was actually issued by the previous BJP government.

To refute rumour that his government has put a one-year moratorium on recruitments, the CM on Tuesday cited a circular that only banned outsourcing of government jobs.

The BJP leader was quick to point out that the circular the CM was quoting was issued in 2014 by the then Raman Singh-led BJP government.

Usendi said by citing the 2014 circular the CM made it clear that it was the erstwhile BJP government which had taken initiative to stop the outsourcing.

The Congress, which was in the opposition then, had accused the BJP government of outsourcing jobs.

“Now that Chief Minister has accepted that the finance department has issued the circular in 2014 and the same has been issued again, it means Baghel while in the opposition had been telling lies,” Usendi said.

“He (the CM) should now clarify as to why the same circular is being used again,” the BJP leader said.

Usendi further claimed that re-issuance of the old circular only showed that Baghel-led government did not have any policy nor have any intention to develop the state.

“By stating that ban is not imposed on recruitment but on outsourcing, Baghel is just continuing the policies of Raman government,” the BJP leader said.

When the BJP government did it, the Congress found fault in it and now the CM was patting his back for the move, he added.
