Alleging vendetta politics by the Congress government by filing First Information Report and commencement of probes against former ministers and party workers, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a day-long sit-in at the Budhatalab, the agitation site, on Wednesday.
Chhattisgarh BJP state president Dharamlal Kaushik, former minister Rajesh Munat and other senior leader participated in the protest.
Kaushik while addressing the gathering said, “Congress government is creating a sense of terror among the BJP workers. Why in Antagarh Audiotape incident, FIR was lodged in late night’’?
Warning the Congress, Kaushik said that the fight against Congress will continue from village-level to Parliament.
Munat said, “In what conditions the SIT incharge was shifted. The issue should come before public. FIR was lodged after midnight.” He demanded that a SIT should also be constituted in which the CD was released in which Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and P L Punia could be seen talking about providing party ticket to leaders for financial gains.
Reacting to the BJP’s demonstration, Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla said, “The demonstration is farce as the office-bearers having indulged in assaulting the journalists in the party office are speaking on law and order. Antagarh issue is a political conspiracy against the Congress party. It will be probed. Why should BJP fear the probe, if their hands are clean’’?
