Targetting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over sending of membership messages through SMS to Congress legislative Party (ClP) leader TS Singhdeo and Chairman of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) Media Cell Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, CGPCC president Bhupesh Baghel said it is unfortunate and the party condemns it.
Notably, a few days back ClP leader TS Singhdeo and Shailesh Nitin Trivedi had received a SMS message inviting them to become members of BJP. “The ruling BJP had made 70 lakh ration cards for 56 lakh families living in Chhattisgarh. Under these circumstances if BJP makes 2.75 crore members in the State which has total population of 1.50 crore then it would not be a shocker,” Baghel quipped.
“Sending message for membership to our leaders and dedicated party workers is unfortunate and has hurt their self esteem,” he said adding party is considering the option of lodging FIR after seeking legal advice. He further informed that the Congress party would begin ‘Kisan Majdoor Nayay Yatra’ on March 11 from Baloda Bazaar. The protest rally would conclude on March 16 with staging gherao of the Chhattisgarh Assembly.
The rally is being organized for payment of paddy bonus for the farmers of the State, not starting purchase of small forest produce and works under MNREGA, non lowering of the rates of petroleum products which are in tandem with global market rates, opposition of land acquisition bill and other issues, Baghel said. He reiterated the demand of carrying out CBI investigation into the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department corruption case.
