Accusing the Chhattisgarh government of failing in all sectors of Covid-19 management, the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Dharamal Kaushik on Saturday asked it to ensure that critically ill patients get admission in hospitals on time.
Addressing the media virtually, he also pressed the government to boost the morale of Corona Warriors, make sure that test reports are received at the earliest and promote social organisations ready to run Covid-19 positive care facilities.
He said that in June the number of positive cases in the state was 2,800, which in July rose to 9,152. In August it reached 31,213. Till September 12, the number has reached 58,600. Proportionately, the death rate is also going up.
Kaushik said that in Covid-19 positive active cases, Chhattisgarh was placed in the 5th place in the country while the recovery rate is lower. The test reports, instead of arriving in two-three days, take a minimum of nine days.
The situation can be gauged from the fact that ruling party Raipur City MLA and Parliamentary Secretary had to issue a warning that if timely arrangements are not made, then he will agitate. He had to wait for 5 hours after calling an ambulance for a critical patient, said the BJP leader.
Kaushik suggested that like West Bengal, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and others, Chhattisgarh should come up with insurance or compensation for doctors, paramedical, police and others working as Corona Warriors.
He said that for every issue the Chief Minister writes a letter to the Centre. He should accept failure and hand over all management and responsibility to the Central government to control Covid-19.
