Criticising the statements of the BJP on postponement of Pre Engineering Test (PET) examination, the Congress has termed it crocodile tears. It reminded that in 15 years of BJP rule three times the Pre Medical Test (PMT) was cancelled.
Congress’s state general secretary and chairman communication wing Shailesh Nitin Trivedi in statement on Thursday said the BJP’s criticism was irresponsible and despicable. The exam was postponed due to technical reasons and the decision taken in this regard was to give equal opportunity to students across the state.
BJP is forgetting that in their tenure the same VYAPAM had canceled the PMT examination thrice in a single year, he said. At that time it was highlighted that the cancellation of exam was due to paper leak, mass copying and irregularity in declaration of examination results, he added.
The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) too was mired in dispute in their 15-year rule, the Congress leader alleged. “It never ever conducted examination without disputes and played with the future of students with irregularities in question papers and declaration of results.”
No effective steps were taken by the then Raman government and all these irregularities were being done under the nexus of top leadership of the BJP, Trivedi alleged.
On the other hand the present Congress government in the state had taken an immediate step, he said. Firstly, it postponed the PET on student’s interest to sort out the student’s problems and then it issued show cause notices to eight of the responsible officials of VYAPAM and Chips, he said. Soon the new dates would be declared and the examination would be conducted with complete transparency, Trivedi added.
