Chhattisgarh BJP president Vikram Usendi on Friday sought apology from ruling Congress for allegedly ‘misleading’ the state on the issue of paddy procurement.
In a statement, Usendi said with the consent letter issued by Modi government for procurement of rice under central pool, the intention of the Congress has been exposed.
He further added that Central government generally does not make any separate policy for any particular state and also does not take any ‘vindictive’ stand on any issue.
It is a normal process of the Central government to carry out procurement of rice on certain conditions according to its policy.
BJP leader said as Bhupesh Baghel had failed to fulfill the promises made on paddy procurement to the farmers, it is directly a ‘forgery’ against the farmers.
To hide the failures of their government, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and other leaders of the Congress had made efforts to falsely blame the central government for the consequences but they have failed to do so, he said.
Usendi further demanded apology saying that “if a little morality has been left with Chief Minister Baghel, then he should seek apology from the farmers and BJP and carry out all works for which the people have elected him to form the government”.
The BJP state president further demanded that as per promise of procurement at the rate of Rs 2500 per quintal, bonus of two years should be provided to the farmers.
