BJP pumping crores into poll campaigns, alleges Hariprasad

Congress national general secretary and in-charge of Chhattisgarh BK Hariprasad on Tuesday said the BJP has been spending crores of rupees on its poll campaign even though there was no Modi  wave in the country.

The BJP has been spending Rs 10,000 crore of ‘black money’ on its campaign to project Narendra Modi as Prime Minister. “The Congress has not even been able to spend even 10 per cent of its campaign expenditure”, the Congress leader said while interacting with reporters at State Congress headquarters here.

Hariprasad said he himself had been the Congress party in-charge for 17 States and had travelled extensively but nowhere he found any wave in favour of Modi. He said the recent polls in Bengaluru saw only 52 per cent polling and it was clear from this that there was no Modi wave, he said.

Calling Narendra Modi's dream as “Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapnay” (Mungerilal's fond dreams), Hariprasad said the BJP's prime ministerial candidate has been travelling across the country while criticising Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi.

“He (Modi) is not speaking anything about the burning issues of the country” the Congress leader said. Even Modi is unable to reply to the questions raised by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul, he said.

Criticising the ‘so-called Gujarat Model of Development’, he said the development has remained at a standstill in Gujarat and as a result of it, the people are migrating to US and Europe. The States such as Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu always remained as developed States and Modi has not done anything for that, he said.

Ridiculing the BJP's poll manifesto, Hariprasad said “their (BJP's) manifesto is the old manifesto of the Congress party which has been made new after some modifications.” Article 370 and Ram Janmabhoomi are some of the issues which exposes the BJP’s real face and thinking, he said.

The Congress has been working for the development of the nation and it will continue to do so.Nobody can defeat the Congress party, he said. Hariprasad also highlighted different achievements made by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government led by the Congress party at the Centre.
