PCC chief Mohan Markam on Friday accused the BJP of playing divisive politics and fanning communal hatred in Chhattisgarh.
Markam said this to reporters at the start of his Bastar march after a visit to the Ma Shitla temple at Kondagaon.
He said the BJP hatched a conspiracy and enacted the Kawardha incident and was trying to disrupt peace in a place where various communities were living in harmony.
People of Kawardha had elected Mohammad Akbar with record votes and he is now the Forest Minister. This testifies the place doesn’t have any scope for communal violence, Markam said.
The BJP was trying to create communal tension in the area, he said. Actually, the BJP sent people from outside the district to create unrest there, he said. He demanded stern actions against people disrupting communal harmony.
