Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Sunday said that the decision of the former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader, Ajit Jogi, to form a new party would have no impact on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the State.

Hinting at the Congress party he remarked in a  brief interaction with reporters here: "Those people (Congress party leaders) whose party is getting weakened should worry about this."

Ajit Jogi will be holding a public gathering in his son Amit Jogi's Assembly constituency Marwahi on Monday where he is scheduled to announce his future plans.

Meanwhile, there was hectic activity at the State Congress headquarters on Sunday in Raipur on the former Chief Minister's decision to form a new party and hold a public meeting at Marwahi.

All the senior State-level Congress leaders held a closed room meeting to discuss the party's future course of action.

State Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel later informed reporters that none of the party's MlAs would be attending Jogi's programme at Marwahi on Sunday.
