The sister-in-law of BJP's National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey, Charulata Pandey has filed nomination papers as an ‘Independent Candidate’ from Vaishali Nagar assembly constituency on the last day for filing the nomination papers in Chhattisgarh on Friday.
Notably, brother of Saroj Pandey, Rakesh Pandey, who was dissatisfied with the denial of allotment of party ticket, was persuaded by party’s National Joint General Secretary (Organization) Saudan Singh, National General Secretary and Chhattisgarh In-charge Dr Anil Kumar Jain and State Organizational Secretary Pawan Sai the other day.
Pandey was pacified by the organizational leaders when he had arrived at the State BJP office ‘Ekatma Parisar’ in Raipur not to contest as an Independent candidate.
In protest of denial of ticket to him, all the office bearers of Durg district unit of BJP except District President Sawla Ram Daharia, who is party candidate from Ahirwara had resigned from their posts.
Meanwhile Rakesh Pandey was somehow persuaded when he came to Ekatma Parisar along with his sister Saroj. But surprisingly the very next day on the last day of filing the nomination papers on Friday , Rakesh Pandey’s wife filed nomination papers as an Independent candidate from the Vaishali Nagar assembly constituency at Durg District Collectorate.
Notably, BJP had repeated the sitting legislator from Vaishali Nagar, Vidyaratan Bhasin, while former Minister Badruddin Qureshi has been fielded by Congress .
