Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Shivratan Sharma on Tuesday demanded the status of membership of Amit Jogi, R K Rai and Siyaram Kaushik.
Raising the issue during the zero hour, Sharma said that it must be made clear why the leader of Opposition T S Singhdeo has demanded termination of the membership of the three MlAs in a letter.
But the Congress MlAs raised objection stating that it is party internal matter. Minister Prem Prakash Pandey said that JCC(J) was formed after bifurcation from the Congress party. To this, Congress member Bhupesh Baghel objected and said that there had been no bifurcation of the Congress party. The member was actually expelled from the party.
The treasury benches then raised the issue of Dr Renu Jogi not being invited to the ClP meeting on which Congress members raised objection over the comments, saying based on newspaper reports, it cannot be accepted in House.
Ajay Chandrakar said that why the letter seeking termination of membership has been sought now that also in last session.
Speaker then gave the ruling that as it is internal matter of Congress party, no such issue should be raised in House. Dr Renu Jogi sought permission from chair to clarify on the point. leader of Opposition T S Singhdeo said that treasury benches are insulting the MlA by raking her name and it is shameful incident. When the ruckus was created with both sides raising the issue, Speaker then adjourned the house for five minutes. Dr Renu Jogi could not place her view on the issue. Again after the adjournment, once again effort was made by treasury benches which Speaker directed stating ruling as already been given.
