BJP lying over Marshals’ conduct : Cong MPs

Published on:

Congress leaders and Rajya Sabha members from Chhattisgarh Chhaya Verma and Phoolodevi Netam on Wednesday accused that BJP of lying over the misbehaviour of marshals in the Upper House of parliament.

Addressing a press conference, the MPs said the truth was that the marshals thrashed them but the statements of BJP leaders over the incident were shameful.

“The video released by the BJP doesn’t reveal the entire truth and is an attempt to suppress the voice of women MPs”, the MPs said.

Narrating the incident, Verma said the BJP was trying to pass the OBC Bill in the house but the opposition wanted discussion on Pegasus, farm laws and price hike. “In between, some 40 persons in the attire of marshals entered the house and thrashed us,” she said.

PCC chief Mohan Markam demanded an apology from the Modi government over the misbehaviour of the marshals.

The BJP had accused the opposition of disrupting the house and hurling pages towards the Chairman and that women MPs grabbed the collars of marshals.
