The Congress has reacted sharply to a statement of Chief Minister Raman Singh's at a party meet in which he advised to party cadres to focus on 30 lakh new voters for the upcoming 2018 Assembly elections. The Congress has alleged that the BJP Government has let down youths.

In a joint statement issued on Monday, State Congress Chief Bhupesh Baghel and leader of Congress legislature party TS Singhdeo, alleged that the ruling BJP regime in Chhattisgarh has been cheating youths. “The Government had made fake claims of foreign investment and creating of job opportunities for youth,” the Congress leaders alleged.

“The young generation is smarter and understands their good and bad. They have already been cheated in the name of "Acche Din" by the BJP but this time they could not be deceived, the statement added.

According to Baghel and Singhdeo, the BJP government in Chhattisgarh has failed in making any concrete policy for youths’ welfare and creating employment for them.

"BJP regime was not able to organize regular state public service exams while the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board is the loan board in across India that had to organize PMT exam thrice in a year," they quipped.

They charged that the state government could not get employment opportunities generated for youth in private sectors too.

"The Government has made laws and rules for giving farmers land to industries, but in past 13 years they could not secure jobs in these industries for youth of Chhattisgarh," they alleged.
