State Congress president Nand Kumar Patel on Thursday charged that the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state failed to properly implement the Central schemes meant for welfare of people.

Addressing a mammoth gathering en route ‘Parivartan Yatra’ at Pendra, a part of constituency of Dr Renu Jogi, Patel accused the BJP leaders of indulging in amassing wealth illegally. He claimed that when the BJP came to power in 2003, the Congress government had left Rs 414 crore in state exchequer. But, now BJP government has debt of thousands of crores despite the fact that UPA government at the Centre provides Rs 30-35 thousand crores annually for the welfare of poor and farmers of this state which the present government failed to spend. The incurring debt is testimony of misuse of public money and the corruption by the BJP leaders.

leader of opposition in state Assembly Ravindra Choubey accused the BJP government of selling lakhs of acre of fertile land of farmers to businessmen in the name of industrialisation while keeping farmers and youth of the state bereft of fruits of industrialisation. He thanked the people for coming in such a large number claiming that a wave of change was blowing in the state.

Earlier, the Parivartan Rath was accorded warm welcome with supporters showering flower petals on leaders at its arrival at Pendra.
