Congress working committee member and former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Ajit Jogi on Monday accused the State Government of emptying the State exchequer. He said that the finance department has been forced to place securities worth Rs 800 crore in auction mode.

Jogi, in a press statement issued here on Monday, said that the State BJP Government has, in order to provide benefits to its people, not made recovery and spent thousands of crores of rupees in haste, because of which the expenses of the State has reached to Rs 3,000 crore.

He said, as the financial situation of the State has not been favourable, the Government decided to auction the securities. The State BJP Government, because of its wrong policies, by emptying the State funds, forced the State to the mouth of debt.

As a result, in future also the state would remain financially weak. Since the loan recovery percentage has been less, development of the State would also be impeded, he added.

Jogi said that all the BJP government ruled States have been ruined and the situation in Chhattisgarh was the same. The State BJP Government has made the state debtor to private companies and financial institutions.

labeling the State BJP Government totally guilty of the poor financial situation of the State and of emptying the State funds, Jogi said that the people of the State would never pardon the BJP for making the State debtor.

He said that he people would give a befitting reply to the BJP in the forthcoming election, for the humiliation brought on the State.
