The BJP Government of the State has completely neglected Bilaspur city and it was due to indifferent attitude of the Government there has been no significant development in the city in past five years, alleged Congress Mayoral candidate from Bilaspur, Ramsharan Yadav.

“People have not forgotten botched sterilisation camp that had claimed lives of 13 women in the district and there is much anger especially among women voters against BJP Government,” Yadav said, adding Congress was receiving huge support from women electorates of the city. According to Yadav due to non-supportive attitude of State Government towards Bilaspur Municipal Corporation (BMC) several development and public welfare works could not be completed.

To a query about people friendly governance of city, Yadav said for making the working BMC more effective and easy to access, proper monitoring of different works will be performed. Public grievance will be addressed in less time, he claimed. Replying over sanitation management of city, Yadav said permanent sanitation workers would be appointed in BMC for keeping city clean. “During the foundation of State, Bilaspur had 1,000 permanent sanitation workers, however, now the number has been reduced to 300. Privatisation of cleanliness system had created trouble for the city," he added.

Over the question fund scarcity for implementation of different schemes, Yadav expressed that he would ensure that taxes are properly collected specially from the illegal colonies.
