BJP Govt deceived people, charges Jogi

Former Chief Minister and Congress party candidate for Mahasamund seat Ajit Jogi said that the ruling government in Chhattisgarh will have to pay a price for deceiving the people of the State in the lok Sabha polls.

He was addressing a public gathering at Gandhi Ground here on Monday.

Speaking in Chhattisgarhi dialect, he said, “the  BJP government has completed 104 days in power but Chief Minister Raman Singh has acted opposite to what he had promised.”

In its poll manifesto, BJP had promised to give Rs 300 bonus and support price of Rs 2,100 for paddy per quintal. “However, after winning election they forgot about it.”

Jogi assured that if the Congress government comes to power then 24-hour electricity supply and free electricity to farmers will be provided.

Today despite being a power surplus state tribal and rural areas in Chhattisgarh remain in the dark.

Jogi spoke of having emotional attachment with Mahasamund. “In 2004 when I was contesting election then I met with near fatal accident in Dhawalpur. I was unconscious for 11 days, but with blessings from you all I am alive today,” Jogi said.

“During 2004 polls, I had campaigned only for four days after which I won by margin of 1.15 lakh votes and now we have 24 days,” Jogi maintained.

A huge gathering was present on the occasion.
