The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chhattisgarh has reportedly got three surveys done so far from ‘outside agencies’ to get a clear picture on performance of Cabinet ministers and heads of boards and corporations across the State.
Party sources here informed that BJP National Vice President and In-charge of Chhattisgarh JP Nadda, BJP National Co-Organization General Secretary Saudan Singh, Chief Minister Raman Singh and BJP State General Secretary (Organisation) Rampratap Singh had a lengthy discussion last week on the performance of certain cabinet ministers and chiefs of civic bodies based on the received survey reports by the party.
With the rising demand for introduction of new faces from several quarters, the senior leaders are already weighing options whether to drop certain Ministers from the list of probables this time round due to their less than satisfactory performance.
Sources said that while the key ministers with important portfolios may be offered ticket to re-contest, there are others who have hardly been in the picture for the last five years to claim their position for a ticket this time round.
This apart, the party is also looking at giving certain promising young leaders a chance to induct them into the Cabinet if the party clinches a hatrick win in the ensuing Assembly polls.
The party had been seriously considering to offer tickets to certain promising leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the party in place of some of the ministers with a poor record, sources stated.
The party’s central leadership had been taking keen interest in evaluating the potential of certain youth leaders who they feel could largely mitigate the anti-incumbency factor in certain Assembly segments of the State.
