The Chhattisgarh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up for the 2018 Assembly polls which was reflected on the first day deliberations of the party’s State Working Body meeting held at Ambikapur in Surguja district here on Wednesday.
“The party’s 2008 Working Body Meeting was also held in Surguja district which had played a key role in the victory of the first BJP Government formed in the State. I also believe that even this time, all eight Assembly seats in Surguja will fall in BJP’s favour and in 2018 we will again form the Government,” State BJP president Dharamlal Kaushik told party workers during the meet.
Chief Minister Raman Singh, BJP’s national co-organisation Secretary Saudan Singh, National Secretary Ramvichar Netam, State general secretary (organisation) Pavan Sai, State Ministers Prem Prakash Pandey, Rajesh Munat, Brijmohan Agrawal along with huge numbers of party workers took part in the meet.
Kaushik while mentioning about party’s recent poll successes in Assam, Kerala and Bengal praised the works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also eulogised Chief Minister Raman Singh.
later on, the political proposal presented by Panchayat Minister Ajay Chandrakar was passed by voice vote.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Raman Singh while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the meeting accepted that discussion over ‘Mission 2018’ will be held during the meeting.
Replying to the query about former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi’s new party he extended best wishes to Jogi.
“It is good that Ajit Jogi fears none and therefore has made his own party. However BJP is based on discipline and party works under leadership of our national-level leaders unlike Ajit Jogi who has formed his own party and becomes its chief,” Singh quipped.
