BJP expects more seats from Raipur-Bilaspur

Heartbeats of all the candidates have been high, as the date of vote counting has drawn near. Both the BJP and the Congress are searching for their possibility of forming Government. Brainstorming began on the possibilities of mustering support, in case they are in short of one or two seats for forming the government.

The BJP expects better performance in Raipur and Bilaspur, whereas, the Congress sees increase in seats in Bastar and Surguja divisions.

Both the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress expect that they would get majority. When the BJP is sure of making a hattrick, the Congress is confident of snatching power from the BJP. leaders of both the parties are tired of calculating the possibility of winning and losing with one or two seats. Now they are eagerly waiting for the counting.

Both the parties had discussion that from where they could get support in case of shortage of one or two seats. The BSP and the CPI had made it clear that if need be they would support the Congress. However, the BJP is confident that it would get more than 49 seats, like that of 2008 election.

During the last fortnight, the party leaders are engaged in calculations that how many seats they would loss from different divisions and how it could be adjusted. The party leaders consider that in comparison to 2008, they would get less number of votes from Bastar. In the last election, they got 11 seats from there.

The BJP leaders consider that they might loss 2 or 3 seats in Bastar, but that vacuum could be filled from Raipur division. They expect an increase of 7-8 seats in Raipur division. They are confident of winning 4 seats from Dhamtari-Mahasamund districts.

The party leaders accept that like Bastar, they may loss some seats in Surguja division, in comparison to 2008 election. Surguja division has 14 seats, out of which the party had won 9 seats in the last election. This time they have doubt about two seats. The leaders said that the loss in Surguja division would be filled in Bilaspur division. As such, the party would come into power for the third time, they added.

However, the Congress also sees the possibility increasing their seats in Bastar and Surguja divisions. The party leaders expect better performance in Raipur and Bilaspur division also. However, it would be made clear on December 8, on which party the voters of the state have confidence.
