BJP demands action against Dantewada Collector

Published on:

BJP has accused the ruling Congress of resorting to illegal means to woo voters in poll-bound Dantewada.

They have also demanded disciplinary action against district returning officer and district collector for permitting the Congress to hold political rally at Danteshwari temple in Dantewada.

BJP argued that the temple committee had decided in past that the temple premises could not be used for political activities. However, the district collector being the chairman of the temple trust permitted the Congress to hold the rally. So, he needs to face the music, BJP demanded.

In a written complaint to the Election Commission of India and office of Chief Electoral Officer Chhattisgarh, the party alleged that district mission coordinator and district education officer have close connection with Karma family (late Congress leader Mahendra Karma) and are pressurizing government employees to vote in favor of Congress party.

The party also picked up the issue of alleged sari distribution by Congress Alderman in Kirandul and demanded action against the persons involved.
