The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and opposition Congress may announce their last list of candidates on Friday and Saturday respectively, sources said.
Chhattisgarh has ninety assembly seats and the BJP has so far announced the names of candidates for 67 seats. Sources said BJP president Rajnath Singh is likely to announce the names of the candidates for the remaining seats by Friday afternoon.
Sources said chief minister Raman Singh and State BJP organizing secretary JP Nadda are giving final touch to the list before sending it to the central leadership.
The Congress on the other hand so far announced the names of candidates for 62 seats. Sources said the party initially decided to announce the name of candidates for the remaining seats on Friday but it was deferred to Saturday as there was no consensus on some seats.
Sources said Congress in charge of State B K Hariprasad and scrutiny committee chairman CP Joshi have already arrived at a consensus and ready to give final touch to the list before they send it to the central leadership for approval.
