Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National president Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said that the party has chosen Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate for assuring the electorate of ridding the country from the challenges of poverty and unemployment.

Addresing a public meeting at Bhatgaon to campaign for party’s candidate Rajni Ravi Tripathi on Tuesday, Singh said that everybody had been saying that the BJP would form the next Government at the Centre in 2014. He said that it is only the BJP which can rid the country from poverty. The best party to run a Government is the BJP. “One could be angry at somebody but one should not be angry with a country or a party”.

launching an attack on the Congress party, Singh said that ever since the Congress-led UPA has come to power at the Centre, the prices of commodities have gone up besides rise in corruption. He challenged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi to provide the Army jawans a free hand and see who dares to infiltrate into Indian borders.

Singh said that the Chinese infiltrate into India and Pakistani forces behead our jawans and the Prime Minister sits without taking any action. “There are no two views that the Chhattisgarh would progress immensely if the BJP Government is in Chhattisgarh and at the Centre,” he said.
