BJP bigwigs figure in saboteurs' list

Published on:

Sabotage issues have been levelled against several big BJP leaders during the two-day review of Assembly seats. Even though there are clear evidences, the party organisation could not muster the courage to take action against these leaders. Some of the leaders consider that action against the saboteurs may affect the party’s prospects in the Parliamentary election.

In the presence of Chief Minister Raman Singh, review of the situation of the party after polling in all the Assembly constituencies was held. In the meeting effort has been made to know the experience of each candidate. It has been come to the fore that in two-third seats the candidates had to face

sabotage. Many of the candidates have given the names of saboteurs in writing to the State president and the general secretary (organisation), whereas, some have made verbal complaints. According to party sources, names of three members of parliament were in the list of saboteurs. In addition to that names of senior office-bearers of the party and one of the ministers have also been prominently figured in the list. The supporters of the minister have worked against the official candidates of the party in two assembly constituencies.

The BJP State president Ramsevak Paikara himself has been victim of sabotage. On figuring the names of bigwigs in the list of saboteurs pressure on the party has been mounted of action, but the organisation leaders have failed to muster courage to take action against them. State organisation general secretary Rampratap Singh said that all candidates have furnished information, though some of them verbally informed. After compiling all the information, further action would be taken, though no time limit has been fixed for action, he added.

After declaration of the election result, the matter will be discussed in the meeting of senior leaders. Some party leaders assume that action would be taken against small fries only, as it would be difficult for the party to take action against bigwigs. The reason is that the parliamentary election is to be held after six months, as such, if action is taken against the leaders, it could affect the election prospect of the party. Any action would be taken only after the declaration of the election results. If the results of the constituency concerned is favourable, then the saboteur could be left out from action.

According to some party leaders, at some place the situation of party candidates were weak. At such places, to cover up their weaknesses, they put the blame on the opponents. It was also said that the party’s situation in the constituencies from where most of the complaints have been received were considered to be very weak. However, the party strategists are in no mood to take immediate action against the saboteurs.
