BJP legislators on Tuesday walked out of the Chhattisgarh Assembly after alleging corruption in the Tribal Department-run Eklavya Schools.
The issue of purchase of goods in the schools situated in Chouki-Mohla-Manpur district was raised by BJP legislator Dr Krishnamurty Bandhi.
He alleged that no physical verification of the goods was done and there were also violations of purchase rules prescribed by the government.
Tribal Welfare Minister Premsai Singh Tekam accepted that corruption had come to fore in some schools and that a departmental enquiry was on against two principals and one official.
BJP legislators including Dharamlal Kaushik and Shivratan Sharma demanded a FIR and created a din in the House. Dissatisfied with the Minister's answer, the BJP members walked out of the House.
