Revenue, Higher Education, and Disaster Management Minister Prem Prakash Pandey said, “Bilaspur division will be free from revenue related cases soon.” Out of 2.35 lakh cases received this year, 2.05 lakh have been resolved. Officials have been asked to redress pending cases by August 15, he added. Addressing the media here on Monday, the Minister said “Bilaspur Division has recorded redressal of 84 per cent cases and necessary instructions have been given to improve efficiency in dealing with revenue related cases.” Pandey was on a day-long visit to Bilaspur to chair a meeting on revenue and monsoon preparedness.

Pandey said that so far Bilaspur, Raigarh and Korba districts have received maximum number of revenue complaints, while Mungeli district received lowest number of cases. He said that all the tehsildars, patwaris and other officials have been instructed to deal with the cases on priority and reduce pendency. They will not be allowed to remain absent without prior permission from the Collector, he said.

The Minister said that SDMs have been asked to ensure their jurisdiction free from revenue cases and all the collectors and senior officials have been asked to monitor the proceedings. “In Bilaspur district about 600 cases of Patta renewal are pending and the officials have been asked to redress them within time limit. However, any case of encroachment on Government land will not be tolerated and such cases will be dealt seriously,” he maintained.

He said Rs12 crore has been sanctioned to Bilaspur University for new building and additional Rs1 crore for infrastructure development like classrooms and for purchasing equipment. On monsoon preparedness, he said that the State Government has allotted Rs100 crore funds to deal with the crisis. Funds have been sanctioned to all districts to make advanced preparedness for monsoon, he said.
