The Chhattisgarh Government will soon start a ‘Bike Ambulance’ facility in Balrampur district of the State.
With commencement of bike ambulance, emergency medical assistance is going to be available to the population residing in areas where the ‘108 Ambulance’ service is not able to reach due to some geographical challenges, officials informed.
local youths, who are well versed of geographical condition and locations of villages/helmets in restive, hilly and forest patches of Surguja and Bastar division, are preferred for handling bike ambulances, informed officials and further added that selected local youths are also subjected to medical training.
Responding to call, bike ambulance will rush to the place of emergency and administer necessary treatment to the patient and also shift the patient to nearby healthcare units as per the requirement.
Moreover, working in coordination with staff handling ‘108’ ambulance (vans), the bike ambulance will perform crucial task of bringing patients to main-road who will later be attended and shifted to nearby hospital in well-equipped ambulance van.
