Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday countered his predecessor Raman Singh over charges of corruption in government.
Talking to reporters here, Baghel said Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax (IT) department are two frontal organisations of BJP and their action on Congress leaders and bureaucrats was politically motivated.
“They are frequently visiting the state but will get nothing. ‘ Unki Daal Nahin Galne Wali’ Baghel remarked. They had only added a word scam in our various schemes and put before state assembly as No Confidence motion.
There was no evidence of any scam of even a penny”, he added.
Earlier, Raman leveled serious charges of corruption in the government and said that even a child in Chhattisgarh knows very well that Bhupesh government was involved in corruption.
“Corruption worth thousands of crore was done and there was coal, liquor and sand scam in the government”, he alleged.
“The central agency ED had filed 13,000 page charge-sheet in court after collecting the evidences and how they say it was a politically motivated action”, Raman retorted.
He added people of Chhattisgarh will teach Congress a lesson in the upcoming assembly polls in the state.
