The collective of Steel Structural Shop of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) have fabricated ‘Stair Case and Walkover Platform’ for upcoming Bar & Rod Mill. The shop collective had taken this as a challenging assignment and completed fabrication along with its erection at Bar & Rod Mill in a short duration of four days on January 7, 2017, a BSP press release informed.
This additional facility of staircase with span of 2 metre length will help in safe and easy movement from zero to five meter level at Rolling Mill area of Bar & Rod Mill.
The walkover platform having span of 2 metre length has been installed at 5 metre level at Rolling Mill area of Bar & Rod Mill for movement on either side of Rolls. Its design has been provided by EDD. This project was completed under leadership of MB Ganesamoorthy, GM (Shops) and R Suresh Kumar, DGM I/c (Forge, Steel Structural, TPl & Reclaimation Shop).
Job was coordinated by J Motwani (AGM), R Sontake (AGM), SK Agrawal (AGM), NK Saha (Dy Mgr), JP Singh (Dy Mgr). The structure has been successfully erected by JV Shrinivas (C/man), Baisakhuram Sinha (Fitter), HN Sahu (Fitter), Vinay Kumar Pandey (Fitter), Ramesh Sahu (Fitter), Pearnand (Cr Opr), Akhilesh Udadhaya (M/F) and other employees of the shop. The management has appreciated the efforts made by Steel Structural Shop collective for fabrication & installation of Stair Case & Walkover Platform within a short period and has urged them to take up more such challenging jobs in future.
