OHS Day was celebrated at National Occupational Health Service Centre (NOHSC) in the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) here. People from all sections of the plant particularly Safety Engineering Department displayed keen interest in the celebration, according to a BSP press release issued here on Thursday. T Pandiaraja, GM (Safety & FS) was the chief guest while Dr Shailendra Jain (DMHS) and Dr Maheep Bhalla (DMHS) were the special guests of honour.
At the onset, Dr A.K.Poddar, Sr.Dy.Dir & I/C NOHSC welcomed the guests and participants. The statue of Dr Bernadino Ramazzini, the father of occupational health was garlanded on the occasion. Dr A.l. Benjamin, Sr.Dy. Dir (OHS) highlighted the performance of NOHSC for the year 2014-15. Dr R.Ram, Sr.Dy. Dir (OHS) gave a deliberation on the theme of the day “Occupational Health from Statutory Compliance to Salutary Performance’.
An interactive Quiz competition prepared by Md. Ashraf (Health Statistician) was the special attraction of the celebration which was highly appreciated by the guests. Best worker awards were bagged by luk Ram (H/A-Nursing) and Md. Israil (H/A-Nursing). The chief guest assured for extending all kind of support to OHS whenever required.
