Beware of fake calls, Anganwadi workers told

The Chhattisgarh government has urged Anganwadi workers not to fall for calls from imposters promising them promotion if they deposit money in certain accounts.

The Chhattisgarh Woman and Child Welfare Department (WCD) has warned Anganwadi workers to be cautious. An official statement on Sunday said that Anganwadi Workers were continuously getting calls on their mobile phones from various mediums.

The unidentified callers posing themselves as District Programme Officer (DPO) or Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) offered the Anganwadi workers promotions and other benefits and demanded money to be deposited in certain accounts.

These fake callers also sought their bank account numbers, the communiqué said.

WCD Director Divya Umesh Mishra advised the Anganwadi workers not to fall in the trap of the fake callers and made it clear that all departmental promotions will be carried out following the rules and       guidelines of the government.

She requested the Anganwadi workers to inform their seniors and police about such calls.
