The Chhattisgarh government stood with the poor, farmers, tribals and workers during the Covid-19 pandemic, due to which the state's economy remained untouched when people around the globe faced financial constraints, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Saturday.
Baghel was addressing the public after dedicating the foundation stone laying ceremony at Kondagaon through virtual mode from his residence-cum-office. A total of 25 works worth Rs 155 crore was inaugurated while foundation stone for Rs 145 crore worth of development work was laid.
These included a maize processing centre, livelihood centres, a district library, construction of a bus stand in Kondagaon and more.
He said the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Scheme's third instalment would be given on November 1, the Foundation Day of the state.
Already the loan waiver, paddy procurement, Godhan Nyay scheme, procurement of minor forest produce on Minimum Support Price and regular work through Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) have economically helped the people.
The Godhan Scheme is unique as it provides space for protecting cattle, procreation and income to the cattle owners. Till date Rs 21 crore has been paid to the cow dung sellers.
Kondagaon MLA Mohan Markam, district in-charge Minister Guru Rudra Kumar and other public representatives also addressed the event.
