Bastar police launches calendar to counter Maoist propaganda

Published on:

For the first time, Bastar police has launched a New Year table top calendar to counter Maoist propaganda by highlighting various achievements of the Chhattisgarh government, policing and welfare works of local administration.

“The main feature of the table top calendar is its messaging with local touch. In every leaf of the calendar tribal languages such as Gondi and Halbi have been used to highlight community programmes conducted by security forces,” Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P said.

This initiative is part of the ‘Bastar Tha Matta’ (Voice of Bastar) campaign being carried out by the Bastar police to highlight the positive and constructive activities of security forces in Bastar region, he said.

In the table top calendar, police have highlighted the government’s ambitious plan for Bastar development known as Triveni Plan -- ‘Confidence-Security-Development’.

"We have also shown new police camps established in highly Maoist sensitive zones and schools, government buildings and roads constructed in these areas," he said.
