The Chhattisgarh government on Tuesday appointed 2007 batch IAS officer Basavaraju S as Secretary to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
Basavaraju has been given the additional charge as Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Protection, and Urban Administration and Development.
Earlier, P Dayanand, a 2006 batch IAS officer, was also appointed as Secretary to the Chief Minister on December 19 after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took power in the state.
With Raju's appointment, the Chief Minister will have two Secretaries.
Dayanand has been given additional charge as Secretary of Energy, Mineral Resources and Public Relations Departments, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Power Company, as well as Secretary of Commerce and Industry (rail line projects) and Aviation Departments.
