nPolice have arrested a Bangladeshi woman from Chhattisgarh's Bhilai township for living in India even after her visa had expired.
Following a tip, the 30-year-old woman, Jyoti Rasel Shaikh, was arrested from Sector 6 Avenue Quarters on Saturday night, the SHO of Bhilainagar police station, Trinath Tripathi, told The Pioneer over phone.
Her visa for India expired on September 13, 2018. But she stayed on in the country and illegally obtained Aadhar and PAN cards and also opened an account at the Indian Bank at Juhu, Nagar Navi Mumbai, the officer said.
She got these Indian documents claiming that she is a citizen of India, he added.
Police have charged with violating a string of laws. She was presented before a court on Sunday, the officer said.
