Ban on liquor to ensure trouble-free idol immersion

Sanjeev Shukla, superintendent of police, has imposed a ban on consumption of liquor on the day of immersion of lord Ganesha.

He has appealed the district administration, Ganesha Samitis and common people to extend all help to avoid any unwanted incidents during idols immersion.

During a meeting with officials of Ganesh Samitis convened here in the presence of ASP Shashimohan Singh and CSP Mohan Dubey, Shukla instructed to take out the tableau as per the roué chart decided last year.

The tableau will be taken out within a time-limit so as not to disrupt the traffic in Ramadhin Marg and Kamthiline, he said. Only the samitis having authorised

letter would be allowed to pass through this way, he added.

It was also decided at the meeting that samitis with DJ and sound systems would not be allowed to enter the route. Besides, samitis officials were asked not to carry any flammable products including kerosene and petrol to avoid any incident of fire.
