The Bharat Aluminum Company ltd (Balco) has been awarded the prestigious ‘Shrushti G-Q’ Award 2013 in two different categories. The company has received the award for its outstanding management of environment conservation and development drives such as tree plantation and awareness programmes using ultra-modern techniques.
The first runners-up award was given for the company’s Smelter-II unit in the ‘Manufacturing Sector’ category and the other was given to CPP-I in the ‘Infrastructure Sector’ category, a company Press release issued here on Wednesday stated.
The annual award which had been instituted by Shrushti Group of Publications was received by Balco’s Regional Marketing Manager (North) Sachin Jain and Advisor BK Bhatia at the hands of National Green Tribunal Chairman Justice Swatantra Kumar on the occasion of World Earth Day-2014 in New Delhi. Also present on the occasion was Balco’s Assistant General Manager (Corporate Affairs) Ashish Dilwariya.
The award function was attended by representatives of around 40 industrial houses from across the country including Tata Steel, Tata Motors, JSW Energy, JSPl and Sesa Sterlite (Sesa Goa).
