Even as the campaign for the lok Sabha polls reached a decisive phase, BJP candidate from Raipur lok Sabha seat, Ramesh Bais, who has won the seat six times in the past, claimed that the people would elect him again to represent them in Parliament.
According to him, it was just not an election like in the past, but it was a turning point in the history of the country and urged them to vote for the lotus for the installation of a BJP government at the Centre for a better future for the country.
``The incumbent UPA government at the Centre was neck deep in corruption and the people need to vote out this corrupt government,’’ Bais told the people on Sunday while electioneering in the state capital.
``They (UPA regime) looted the country so much that even you will not be able to count the figures of the amount they looted,” he said, pointing out how the Congress exploited the country. The future of the country, he said, was with the BJP under the leadership of its designated prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
While taking a brief comparison of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre and the UPA, he said the prices of essential commodities were under control, there was no queue for liquefied Petroleum Gas (lPG) and other items of daily use. But now life for everyone had become miserable on account of corruption, he said.
Meanwhile, his election manager Brijmohan Agrawal who is also a minister in Chhattisgarh government, held meetings with party leaders and workers to take stock of the progress in the campaign.
Bais interacted with people at localities such as Raikhed, Mohranga, Seoni and Bangoli among other places under the Dharsiwa assembly segment which is part of Raipur lok Sabha seat.Meanwhile, local legislator Devj Patel said the party was getting massive response from the people and Bais would be elected for the seventh consecutive term as well.
