Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has written a letter to Union Road Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari requesting speedy completion of pending construction works of various National Highways in Chhattisgarh.

Baghel mentioned about the need to accelerate the   construction work of flyover in Tatibandh Chowk, widening of Raipur-Dhamtari Road, widening work of Bilaspur-Ambikapur, Champa-Korba-Katghora Road, and Kunkuri Road of Patthalgaon. He said that incomplete construction of these roads is creating   problems in public transport.

Chief Minister stated in the letter to Union Minister that NH-53 is situated in Tatibandh Chowk of Raipur city, which is the junction of Raipur-Durg, Raipur-Simga, Tatibandh-Amanaka and Tatibandh-Bhanpuri roads.

During his Chhattisgarh tour on September 10 last year, the Union Minister had announced construction of flyover worth Rs 100 crore, but the construction work could not be started even after one year of the announcement.

Chief Minister said that as Tatibandh is one of the busiest squares of the city and junction has not been constructed as per the parameters, number of road accidents on this route is continuously increasing. He requested to start the construction of flyover as soon as possible so as to ensure smooth traffic movement.

Baghel also mentioned in the letter that road widening work of National Highway 30, Raipur-Dhamtari Road, has been stopped from May 2018 and the construction agency has left the construction works unfinished  at several places, which is creating problems in traffic movement.

It is an important road that connects Raipur-Jagdalpur.

Chief Minister also requested that the construction of Raipur-Dhamtari four-lane should also be started soon. Besides, he also mentioned how construction agency has left the widening and upgrading work of NH-43 Patthalgaon-Kunkuri Road incomplete. For last two years, people have been facing  problems as Patthalgaon-Kansabel road has been dug out in between creating problems in traffic movement.

Chief Minister also mentioned in the letter about delayed construction works at NH-149, NH-111, etc which have been causing major inconvenience to public, requesting speedy completion of the road construction/repairing/upgrading works.
