Chief Minister Raman Singh on Monday launched a scathing attack on Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) Chief Bhupesh Baghel at his home town Patan here for his alleged involvement in sleaze CD case.“Bhupesh Baghel has defamed the name of Patan by degrading politics” he charged.

Addressing a public meeting while without naming Baghel, Singh admonished the CGPCC Chief for his alleged involvement in character assassination of a Chhattisgarh Minister.

Patan is a notable place known for its contribution in freedom struggle and for being land of martyrs but a leader from here has now defamed the town by going to jail , he said.

Bhupesh Baghel did not go to jail while fighting for the rights of poor and downtrodden or for the farmers, but was put in jail as he waved CD in a bid to character assassinate a leader, Singh said.

People of Chhattisgarh have taught lesson to such public representatives in the year 2003, 2008 and 2013 and once again will give a befitting reply,  the Chief Minister said.

Singh during his speech also declared of naming Government College of Jamgaon after son of the soil and martyr Domeshwar Sahu, who recently laid down his life fighting extremists in Jammu and Kashmir.
