Guru Ghasidas Central University (GGU)             Vice-Chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Chakrawal on Tuesday described Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as one who envisioned a united India and said he opposed Article 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir from the very beginning.

He was addressing a          programme in the university campus to mark the death anniversary of Dr Ambedkar.

The Chief Guest, social worker and advocate T.R. Nirala, and other guests         earlier offered floral tributes at a statue of Dr Ambedkar.

Chakrawal said Dr Ambedkar insisted on seeing man as man. He was endowed with unprecedented administrative skills, human values and intellectual ability.

Dr Ambedkar dedicated his entire life for social               harmony and justice and             fulfilled his responsibilities towards the country and    society with utmost

 devotion, he added.

"We must imbibe the               values and ideals of Dr Ambedkar to build a new India, and only then we will be included in the category of developed nations," he added.

Nirala said the role of Dr. Ambedkar was crucial in the building an egalitarian               society. Dr. Ambedkar made constant efforts to uplift the backward, deprived and exploited sections.
