The Bharat Aluminium Company limited (BAlCO) has installed an automatic and fully computerised weighbridge at its material gate. The inauguration of newly installed automatic weighbridge was done by Chief Operations Officer Avinash Chand Rai.
The automatic and fully computerized weighbridges will speed up the process of weighing of the heavy and transporting vehicles. It will also reduce the risk of errors that is caused in manual weighing process, company officials stated.
For the automatic weighing process, preparations have been made to install an electronic tag on all the vehicles to be weighed. Whenever the vehicle will stand on the weighbridge, the automatic cameras will read the vehicle’s registration number and take a picture of driver and material loaded in the vehicles. With the help of electronic tag, the details like vehicle registration number, gate pass number and weight of stock are being provided to logistic, security and other concerned departments.
This entire process gets completed in just 50 seconds and the vehicle driver does not have to step down of the vehicle for weighing and other process . Further, after accepting the computer generated receipt, the driver moves on.
