The Congress party workers created furore at District Congress Office here after denial of poll ticket to Atal Shrivastava.
Shrivastava’s supporters ransacked the party office on Thursday after the party declared the names of candidates in the latest list.
The supporters of Atal Shrivastava while protesting the allotment of poll ticket to Sailesh Pandey also locked the Congress District Office and staged a sit-in outside.
Shrivastava’s supporters while talking to reporters also charged that the poll ticket of Bilaspur was ‘sold’. They made serious allegation that Chhattisgarh In-charge of All India Congress Committee (AICC), P.L. Punia and Chairman of party's Screening Committee 'sold' the party ticket of Bilaspur.
Notably, Atal Shrivastava’s name came to light during cane charge incident in Bilaspur when Congress activists dumped garbage at residence of State Minister for Urban Administration Amar Agrawal. Shrivastava led the movement and was beaten up by the police.
