In a fresh development in the Chhattisgarh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bilaspur MP Arun Sao was on Tuesday appointed the new state BJP President. He replaces Vishnudeo Sai.

The ruling Congress immediately termed the decision anti-tribal.

BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh issued the appointment order. Congratulating him, Vishnudev Sai said Sao was a better organizer as he has a better hold in the party and politics. The party will             benefit from his merit, Sai added.

Former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh hoped that it would make the             organisation stronger. Under Vishnudeo Sai, the party had organized struggles against the Congress government in the state.

Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik said Sai had worked efficiently to strengthen the organisation. Now, Arun Sao will take over and this will benefit the BJP.

Chhattisgarh PCC President Mohan Markam termed the removal of Vishnudeo Sai as "anti-tribal". He said changing the face is not going to change the situation. The people of the state have no faith in the BJP, he added.
