Angered Sindhis warn of dissociating with Cong

The Sindhi community in Chhattisgarh is angry with the Congress party for not choosing even a single Sindhi candidate for the ensuing Assembly polls in the State.

In a letter to AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi, the Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat, a body of Sindhi community in the State stated that it was gross injustice done to the Sindhi community.

The Sindhi community had extended its wholehearted support to the Congress party during the civic polls in Chhattisgarh besides ensuring the victory of its mayors in Raipur, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon and Bhilai, it stated.

‘We (Sindhi community) forged relations with the Congress party but it decided to ignore us. The community has sizeable presence in all the Assembly seats of Chhattisgarh besides playing a decisive role in the polls’, the letter stated.

The Congress move would lead to the Sindhis distancing themselves from the Congress party which would result in negative impact on the Congress seats, it stated.
