Chief Minister Raman Singh said that ample security cover would be provided to Congress party's Parivartan Yatra in Chhattisgarh.
'Irrespective of the political affiliations, political leaders would be provided the best security arrangements.' said Singh after reaching Raipur from Goa on Sunday evening.
He said that no laxity in security arrangements would be tolerated. The public representatives would be given security cover during election campaigns, the Chief Minister said.
The statement of Chief Minister has come after declaration of Chhattisgarh Congress party to start its ‘Parivartan Yatar’ from Jeeram Ghati-- the spot where Maoists killed Congress party leader Nand Kumar Patel, his son Dinesh Patel, Salwa Judum founder Mahendra Karma, Uday Mudliyar and 22 others on May 25. The deadly attack has also left veteran Congress party leader VC Shukla struggling for his life in Medanta hospital at Gurgaon.
Post Darbha incident, much turmoil was seen in state and even the Chief Minister had to accept it was security failure.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is presently probing the Darbha massacre and on request of State government, a sitting judge of Bilaspur High Court Justice Prashant Mishra has also begun his investigation into the case.
