Sitting Congress MlA Amitesh Shukla filed his nomination on Monday from Rajim Assembly Constituency for the current assembly poll scheduled on November 18.
He was allowed to be accompanied by five persons only during the filing of nomination. No usual pomp and fare or even fireworks marked the occasion as he himself had forbidden from the use, given the fact that his mother Padmini Shukla, wife of former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh late Shyama Charan Shukla, had passed away just a fortnight back.
Media persons present on this occasion came out of the collector’s office in protest when they were denied entry during nomination filing. They were however allowed later.
On this occasion, district president of Sahu Samaj Baishakhuram Sahu and other office bearers were present to extend their support.
Talking to mediamen after filing nomination Amitesh claimed that people of the State have become aware of the corruption of the BJP Government and its failure to fulfil its promises and anti people policies and therefore will show it the door in the current election as wave of change was blowing throughout State.
Scams of the Government, ministers’ indulgence in corruption, failure to fulfil election promises, rape with minor school girls at Jhaliamari Ashram, Jeeram Valley carnage and others will be the main plank of the current Assembly poll, Shukla added.
