With the introduction of the Ambikapur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express, Delhi and many important cities have been connected by rail service to Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said this after virtually flagging off the maiden trip of the train from Ambikapur on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering at the Ambikapur railway station, Vaishnav said that major railway stations in the country were being redeveloped as per the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Renuka Singh, the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, said the much-awaited demand of Ambikapur residents has been fulfilled.
Alok Kumar, General Manager, South East Central Railway, said that earlier Ambikapur residents travelling to Delhi had to board trains at Anuppur or Katni.
He said the new train will leave Ambikapur every Thursday at 7.15 am and reach Hazrat Nizamuddin in New Delhi at 4.35 am the next day. It will leave Hazrat Nizamuddin every Tuesday at 11 pm and reach Ambikapur at 7.30 pm the next day.
