The controversy of two ‘B’ forms issued by Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) JCC (J) candidates Amar Gidwani and Nitin Bhansali has been resolved with Returning Officer rejecting the nomination papers of Nitin Bhansali after scrutiny of papers while clearing way for Amar Gidwani as official party candidate.
Earlier, Gidwani was declared as official candidate of JCC(J) but on last day for filing of nomination papers, and Nitin Bhansali was named as candidate. Both the candidates had filed the nomination forms along with letter issued by party naming each candidate as official candidate.
During the scrutiny of nomination papers, both the candidates were called when the party’s official letter declaring as candidate was found. The candidates’ status and reply was sought.
After Gidwani’s nomination papers were accepted, Nitin Bhansali said, “To fill the form, I got less time due to which there were several mistakes due to which my form was rejected. Amar Gidwani is my elder brother and I have no objection. Would cooperate with him and continue to do so and work for him.”
Gidwani thanked JCC supremo Ajit Jogi and said that for two years had worked and would win the election in Raipur City North.
Meanwhile, Raipur (North) constituency had this time faced crisis over the selection of candidates. BJP declared its candidate by retaining the sitting MLA Shrichand Sunderani while Congress also declared the candidate in last moment by finalising former MLA Kuldeep Juneja. Similarly, JCC (J) had two candidates in place and finally the confusion had been sorted out.
